About Me

I have always been passionate about how the body works and from an early age I knew the health care industry was for me. My Dad suggested Osteopathy when I was around 14 years old and so I steered my education in that direction. I started my Osteopathic degree in 2004 at the SIOM in the UK and graduated in 2008.

Throughout my degree I had a keen interest in sports injuries and orthopaedic work.  In my fourth year I managed to join a programme for medical students at my local hospital and was extremely lucky to participate in and observe live theatre work and post surgery consultations with the surgeons.  They walked me through reading MRI scans, x-rays and orthopaedic testing to diagnose and treat various conditions.

When I finished my education I moved to the north of England to cover 2 clinics while the resident Osteopath there was on maternity leave.  I treated a lot of elderly people with arthritic conditions, fractures, knee/hip replacement surgeries and cancer.  While I was there I was offered a job in Oslo, Norway to which I accepted.  I moved to Norway in May 2009.

From here I started to direct my studies towards the cranial and visceral fields of Osteopathy.  I have read and heard many amazing stories about these areas of Osteopathy and quickly started to regularly attend a variety of courses.  I started with the Upledger Institute for cranial-sacral therapy, but have since continued with the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy.  I have also completed a number of courses with the Jean. P. Barral Institute in the UK.

I now work at a clinic called Consensio (which means harmony in Latin) in Aker Brygge, Oslo.  www.consensio.no.

In the future I am interested in turning my studies towards the psycho-emotional complications of the body.  I believe a lot of the musculoskeletal problems we encounter in society today are a partial result of a psycho-emotional problem.  I’m looking forward to exploring this huge, yet fascinating area of healthcare and combining it with my hands on approach of Osteopathy.
